Demonstrators gather in San Francisco to support the popular uprising in Sudan

Protestors gathered outside San Francisco’s City Hall this afternoon to show support for the uprising in Sudan, and demand the resignation of President Omar al-Bashir.

The demonstrations in Sudan began a month ago over decades of corruption and economic mismanagement. Authorities in Sudan have fired back with tear gas and rubber bullets to quell the unrest. Opposition leaders, doctors, journalists, and others have been arrested, and the death toll is rising.
