St. Catharines Member of Parliament Chris Bittle – Allan Benner , The St. Catharines Standard<\/p>\n
St. Catharines Liberal MP Chris Bittle is officially the party’s candidate in the upcoming federal election.<\/p>\n
Bittle was confirmed Wednesday night during a federal Liberals nomination meeting for the St. Catharines riding at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24.<\/p>\n
First elected in 2015, Bittle has sat on the Justice Committee from 2015-2017 and on the standing committee on procedure and house affairs since being appointed Deputy House Leader. He is a civil litigator and past chair of Quest Community Health Centre.<\/p>\n
“Every day it is an honour and privilege to serve the people of St Catharines. I am again humbled to be the Liberal Candidate for 2019,” he Tweeted.<\/p>\n
A campaign press release said Bittle is committed to working with Justin Trudeau to strengthen the middle class, create well-paying jobs and offer help for families in St. Catharines.<\/p>\n
The federal election is scheduled to be held on or before Oct. 21.<\/p>\n
All three of the major parties have named their candidates in St. Catharines riding.<\/p>\n
Bittle will be running against Conservative candidate Krystina Waler, who was acclaimed in August, and NDP candidate Dennis Van Meer, who was confirmed last month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
