Sands &#8211; The Washington Times &#8211; Sunday, February 21, 2021<br \/>\nFormer President Donald Trump\u2019s deputy national security adviser said Sunday that the \u201cweight of circumstantial evidence\u201d suggests the COVID-19 virus was not the result of a natural outbreak resulting from animal-to-human transmission but was likely first produced in a Chinese lab.<\/p>\n<p>Former Deputy National Security Adviser Matthew Pottinger also said on CBS\u2019 \u201cFace the Nation\u201d that a recent expert mission from the World Health Organization to study the coronavirus\u2019s origins in Wuhan, China, was \u201cdeeply conflicted\u201d and that the U.N. health agency has made \u201call sorts of misinformed and untruthful claims\u201d about how the virus led to a deadly global pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration has taken up some of the Trump administration\u2019s doubts about the virus, saying China\u2019s government still has many questions to answer about its response to the emergence of the outbreak in late 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By David R.
